Pekin Street

KEONBAE is a Korean drinking house on Pekin Street, and the brief was simple: make it feel like a night out in Seoul's Euljiro district. Neon signage, comic-strip soju murals and a lightbox menu wall set the energy the moment you step past the shopfront. We worked a tight palette of electric red and deep blue: lacquered red tables and stools, black tufted-leather banquettes, and glossy blue grid tiles that catch the neon glow. Lighting does the heavy lifting after dark — concealed red LED washes under the banquettes and illuminated signage strips above, so the space photographs as vividly as it feels. Built to be loud, late and memorable.
