Designer's Notes
This brand-new Tengah flat was designed to feel like it has history. Dark teak-toned furniture, rattan-front cabinetry and arched doorways with fluted glass nod to the kampung-era homes the owners grew up visiting, while the layout and lighting are thoroughly modern.
The dining area is the heart: a solid wood table with classic curved chairs, dressed with brass lanterns and heirloom-style ceramics. Arched timber doors lead to bathrooms finished in warm travertine tones with aged-brass fittings.
Even the laundry and kitchen zones keep the language going with louvred panels and woven textures. It is nostalgia done with restraint — a young family's home with an old soul.
